From Soccer Player to Financial Advisor: Ari Taublieb’s Journey

Have a burning question about early retirement, taxes, or anything else we discuss on our podcast? We want to hear from you!

This episode of Ari Taublieb’s podcast differs from his usual content. Instead of discussing financial planning strategies, Ari talks about himself and why he started the podcast.

Ari grew up in Malibu, California, but his family was not wealthy. He loved soccer and went to the University of Puget Sound because they agreed to let him play. Even though he wasn’t the most naturally talented soccer player, he loved the sport. This passion for soccer led him to intern at Burnley Football Club in England. While there, he realized his interest wasn’t in professional soccer but more in the financial side of things, specifically accounting and finance.

Back in the United States, Ari got a job working in finance. He had a negative experience where a car mechanic tried to take advantage of his lack of knowledge about cars. This experience solidified his belief that people need a financial advisor they can trust.

Ari met his partner James who felt the same way about the financial industry. James and Ari co-founded Root Financial Partners with the aim of providing a better financial planning experience for their clients.

Ari also created an Academy for Early Retirement where he teaches people how to achieve financial independence.
